With our courses, we address windream administrators and users who want to expand their knowledge and competences in dealing with our products.
Our web-based courses on the windream e-learning platform offer maximum flexibility. You can learn at any time, from any location and at your own pace, pausing and resuming units as required. Questions during the training and a final exam are also possible. Here you can find the basic courses and the courses for developers.
Our basic courses
This e-learning module provides users and key users with practical knowledge on how to use the windream Client effectively. Central functions such as drive, search, indexing and DocView as well as an overview of the web-based client windream Dynamic Workspace are covered.
- Target group: Key users
- Contents: Usage and functions of the windream ECM-system – applications, filing, indexing, object types, search, My windream, VFS, document editing, versioning, DocView and Dynamic Workspace.
- Recommended basic knowledge: Knowledge in the use of Windows and Windows Explorer
- Previous modules: None
The course teaches how to correctly interpret setups, create system environments and correct errors. Participants will learn how to use the windream architecture for larger installations, how to install clients without user interaction and how to integrate the Web Service and Dynamic Workspace. In addition, long-term archiving, backup strategies and infrastructure optimization will be covered.
- Target group: Administrators and support staff
- Contents: The course covers SQL Server prerequisites, setup of windream Client and Server, architecture scaling, database and object storage configuration. Further topics are Unattended Setup, installation of Share Drive, Web Service and Dynamic Workspace, Terminal Server/Citrix installation as well as backup strategies and troubleshooting.
- Recommended basic knowledge: Knowledge of using windream, good knowledge of the Windows server operating system, basic knowledge of databases

The course focuses on the configuration for effective document management, including the setup of users, groups, document and folder types as well as a rights concept. Participants will learn how to administer the system and receive practical examples of system setup and extension through scripting.

- Contents: The course offers an introduction to the windream Management Console and deals with topics such as object types, document analysis, life cycles, user administration and rights structures. Further contents are project checklists, windream scripting, the planning and realization of DMS-projects as well as long-term archiving.

The module teaches concepts and the setup of windream Dynamic Workspace with a focus on the creation of individual views for technical requirements. By means of practical examples, participants will learn how to use the platform as specialist administrators in the company.

- Contents: The course teaches the concept of windream Dynamic Workspace, the creation and administration of views, authorizations and target platforms as well as the setup of the different components and views.
- Recommended basic knowledge: Advantageous – windream specialist administration and windream for users

The windream BPM module imparts knowledge about the automation of business processes via workflows in order to increase transparency and efficiency. Participants will learn how to install BPM, model processes and transfer them into use, including the integration of smart robots and form scripting. Previous knowledge of process automation is an advantage.
- Target group: Administrators, consultants
- Contents: The course provides an introduction to Business Process Management (BPM) and covers the installation of the application server, designer, standard clients and the web solution. Other topics include the functional scope of the BPM client and designer, the implementation of a sample process, the configuration of smart robots and practical process examples.

Courses for developers
The e-learning module teaches how to use the windream programming interfaces for integrating the DMS technology into other applications, e.g. scanning software or archiving functions. The integration is done via the windream object model and the corresponding SDK.
Prerequisite for participation is the purchase of the “windream SDK”.
- Target group: Developers
- Contents: The course deals with the windream object model, COM interfaces as well as saving, searching and scripting via the interfaces.
- Recommended basic knowledge: Programming knowledge in Visual Basic Script (VBScript) and/or C# and basic knowledge in object-oriented programming
- Previous modules: None – Advantageous windream Administration
This e-learning course is aimed at developers who want to create their own applications with the windream Web Service. It uses the modern REST technology and JSON for cross-platform access to the windream ECM-system. The module provides the necessary knowledge for the effective use of the web service interfaces.
Prerequisite is the purchase of the “windream Web Service SDK”.
- Target group: Developers
- Contents: windream REST API and saving and searching in windream via the interfaces
- Recommended basic knowledge: Programming experience, ideally with C# and JavaScript and basic knowledge of HTTP and HTTPS
- Previous modules: windream specialist administration (participation requirement), advantageous – windream programming interfaces
The windream BPM e-learning module provides administrators and developers with the necessary knowledge to create and adapt individual workflow processes and automated steps with the help of the windream BPM object model.
Prerequisite for participation is the possession of the product “windream BPM Designer incl. SDK with examples”.

- Contents: windream BPM object model, implementation of automatic process steps, control in workflow forms
- Recommended basic knowledge: Programming experience, ideally with VB.NET, VBA or VBScript, windream administration
- Previous modules: windream programming interfaces, windream BPM (prerequisite for participation)
- Advantageous: windream specialist administration
The e-learning course is aimed at developers who want to create their own application scenarios and components with the windream Dynamic Workspace. A graphical designer and a component construction kit allow for a flexible customization of the user interface.
The module offers an overview of script development as well as an introduction to the development of own components. The basic knowledge required to effectively use the programming interfaces of Dynamic Workspace and the windream Web Service will be imparted.

- Contents: windream Web Service as a basis, windream Dynamic Workspace Script component, windream Dynamic Workspace components
- Recommended basic knowledge: Programming experience, ideally with JavaScript, basic knowledge of web programming, basic knowledge of HTML5 and CSS
- Previous modules: windream Administration, windream Web Service Programming Interfaces (prerequisite for participation)
- Advantageous: windream programming interfaces
windream certification exam on request
As an option, we offer a certification exam for some e-learning modules to test the knowledge acquired. After passing the exam, participants receive a certificate.
Certificate of attendance
After successfully completing an e-learning course, we issue each participant with a certificate of attendance. This certifies active participation and completion of the course and can be used as proof of acquired knowledge and skills.
Technical requirements
To participate, you need a PC, Mac or tablet with internet access and a resolution of at least 1024 x 768 pixels. Current versions of Edge, Firefox and Chrome are supported.
Note: The four previous browser versions (or the current and previous iOS version for iPads) are also supported for up to 24 months.
