Heilbronn, 14 April 2025 – The dataglobal Group announces the general availability of version 9 of its Business Process Management (BPM) solution enabling companies, administrations and other organisations to model their processes digitally, edit them intuitively and execute them efficiently with software support. Typical areas of application include account payable and travel expense processing, vacation requests, general document control and purchase requisitions. Business Process Management makes it possible to quickly digitalise and automate all relevant business processes – end-to-end and integrated into the dataglobal Group’s holistic data city approach.

Graphic Designer and Smart Robots allow simple workflow creation

windream BPM offers a decisive advantage to companies that make slow progress in digitisation due to lacking sufficient staff with in-depth IT knowledge. With the BPM Designer, recurring business processes can be modelled on the basis of an easy and intuitive graphical user interface – even without in-depth programming knowledge using the low-code method. The BPM Designer optimally supports the business user in transferring the relevant business processes into electronic workflows.

In line with the dataglobal Group’s Data City approach, digitisation is thus moving much closer to the business departments, which can therefore contribute their process knowledge efficiently. windream BPM 9 is, thus, a highly flexible solution for the specific requirements of companies and their business.

For the technical implementation of the workflows, windream BPM 9 offers so-called Smart Robots. They are available for the automation of server-side tasks such as email dispatch or data exchange with third-party applications such as CRM, ERP and HR systems. They are also used for the interaction of process management with other components of the Data City infrastructure and take over the postponed indexing of documents in document management, for example. Freed from programming effort, customers save valuable time in workflow design and also minimise the usual testing and implementation effort.

Version 9 brings many improvements for users and in the backend

Version 9 brings a number of other improvements. For example, support through profiles makes it possible to process several workflow jobs simultaneously, which means a considerable increase in productivity for all workflow users. The multi-level escalations, which can be set individually for each workflow step, are just as flexible. They make it possible to react to missed deadlines – the impending disadvantages of a missed deadline, such as cash discount losses, are now a thing of the past. With the new ad-hoc workflows, users can spontaneously define and customise individual workflows based on prepared templates – including the sequence of steps, responsibilities and deadlines – without in-depth knowledge of workflow design.

Thanks to multithreading in system steps, processes can be executed even faster and more effectively, and the new server configuration tool makes managing and configuring the system much easier. In addition, windream BPM 9 supports PostgreSQL 17.2 as another mature and high-performance open-source database. These new performance features and many improvements in detail ensure that the latest version 9 of the BPM solution is a real game changer.
