The interview series with employees of the dataglobal Group

Sabrina Salvador (Head of Marketing)

How long have you been working for the dataglobal Group?

In January it will be 3 years.

What are your tasks as Head of Marketing at the dg Group?

Our current focus is on expanding the dataglobal Group brand and the associated communication channels in order to increase awareness and reach. We are currently focusing on optimizing our website and further developing our LinkedIn presence.

Another important topic is the consolidation of the various brands and business units. We are currently developing concepts to strengthen their visibility in the long term.

We are also already planning campaigns for the coming year. We are implementing independent campaigns for our partners and potential new customers, as well as campaigns that we would like to design and implement together with our partners.

You have held various positions in the dg Group, from online marketing to project management and now as Head of Marketing. What were the decisive steps or experiences that shaped your path in the company?

What has always characterized me – and what I see as one of my greatest strengths – is my hands-on mentality. I’m not someone who simply lets tasks pass me by. When I realize that my expertise is needed, I volunteer to help out.

In online marketing at dataglobal, I have already taken on responsibility for partner marketing. I was responsible for providing suitable material and organizing webcasts. Over time, I became increasingly involved in strategic projects. When the eleven brand was added, I had the opportunity to develop the marketing for this brand independently and from scratch. This gave me the opportunity to show that I am not afraid to start projects from scratch and build something new.

Another important milestone was my significant involvement in the branding of the dataglobal Group during its creation. I was also able to take on project management and campaign management in the marketing team. I broke down strategic goals into specific operational tasks and distributed them efficiently.

Thanks to my commitment and performance for the team, I was eventually offered the opportunity to take on the role of Head of Marketing.

What would you describe as your personal vision for marketing at the dg Group, and how has this vision changed over the course of your career?

My vision is that we work together as a team to establish the dataglobal Group as the leading brand for the digital workplace in Europe. Although we are a small team, we have immense expertise and I wish us all the success we deserve. It would be great if our campaigns are not only noticed, but also admired – that people say, “Wow, what this team has come up with is impressive.”

I am particularly looking forward to deepening our cooperation with our partners and implementing even more exciting projects together with them.

My vision has evolved over time with the growth of our company and the new brands that have been added. Today, I see a bigger, more cohesive picture for the digital workplace. With even more input, even more expertise and many great new colleagues, we have the opportunity to make this journey even more successful and to better understand and meet the needs of our customers.

How is the cooperation with colleagues and the general atmosphere in the team and in the Group in general?

Our collaboration is diverse, as we come from different companies and units. However, what unites us all is our openness and willingness to help. Everyone is willing to help others, provide valuable input and work together on projects.

Another important aspect is the great trust we have in each other. When colleagues from other locations approach us, they know that we take their ideas and wishes seriously and create something great from them. It is precisely this trust and openness that we need to maintain – they are a key part of our strength.

What do you particularly appreciate about the dg Group as an employer, and are there certain values or principles that make the company a special place to work for you?

Working from home, absolutely! That’s a point that I’m sure many people appreciate. The flexibility that comes with it is a great advantage that I personally really enjoy. As a dog owner, I’m also happy that I can bring my dog with me to any location – and that he’s welcome everywhere.

What I also really like are the values and principles that are practiced here, especially the opportunity to show ownership. No matter what the topic is: if you have an exciting idea, you get the chance to take over the project and drive it forward. You can put together your own team to work with and have the freedom to try things out and develop the idea further. I think that’s great!

Would you recommend the dataglobal Group as an employer?

Yes, definitely, but I think everyone should be aware that a willingness to change is essential. You have to be someone who likes to get stuck in and work actively. We are a company that not only manages agencies, but also develops and implements a lot ourselves.

If you’re ready to shape new processes and get actively involved, you’ve come to the right place and have the opportunity to achieve a lot.

Thank you very much for the interview, Sabrina!

E-invoicing will be mandatory for B2B companies from 2025 – two of the most commonly used formats for e-invoices in Germany are XRechnung and ZUGFeRD. Although both formats are subject to the same legal requirements, there are differences between them.

What is an e-bill?

Electronic invoices, also known as e-invoices, are digital documents that replace conventional paper-based invoices. They offer numerous advantages for companies and public authorities, including simplified processes, cost savings and increased efficiency. Automated processing reduces the administrative burden and speeds up the payment cycle.

E-invoices are subject to the same legal requirements as paper-based invoices. These include requirements regarding the authenticity of the origin, the integrity of the content and the legibility of the invoice. In the EU, these requirements are regulated by Directive 2014/55/EU, which creates a uniform standard for electronic invoices in public procurement.

There are various formats for electronic invoices, each covering different requirements and areas of application. The two most important in Germany are XRechnung and ZUGFeRD.

What is XRechnung?

XInvoice was specially developed within the EU Directive 2014/55/EU which prescribes electronic invoicing in public procurement. The aim is to create a to create a uniform and binding standard for electronic invoices that meets the requirements of the public sector.

XInvoice is based on the XML format (Extensible Markup Language) format. It contains structured data that is machine-readable and enables automated processing. The format is purely data-based and does not contain any visual elements or PDF representations.

Since November 27, 2020 companies in Germany have been legally obligedto use the XInvoice-format for invoices to public clients. This format ensures standardized and automated processing of invoice data.

What is ZUGFeRD?

ZUGFeRD (Zentraler User Guide des Forums elektronische Rechnung Deutschland) is a hybrid format that combines both machine-readable XML data and a visually readable PDF.

The aim is to offer a flexible solution that can be used by different companies and organizations, regardless of their size and technical equipment. ZUGFeRD combines a PDF/A-3 document with embedded XML data.

The PDF/A-3 format is an ISO standard for the long-term archiving of documents and ensures that the invoice is both visually legible and can be processed electronically. It is not mandatory for public clients, but is widely used in the business world.

Conclusion

In summary, XRechnung is a strictly regulated, standardized format designed specifically for the public sector, while ZUGFeRD is a more flexible, hybrid solution that contains both machine-readable data and a human-readable PDF and is suitable for general business use.

Both formats aim to improve the efficiency and accuracy of invoice processing, but differ in their technical approaches and application contexts.
